The three day first aid at work course

The course duration is 3 days and covers the following:

  • The Most Current First Aid Techniques
  • In depth Training in Reporting and Identification of Casualties
  • Triage
  • Recognition and Treatment of different types of injuries
  • Life Saving Techniques and Procedures
  • Course is in Line with First Aid At Work Regulations 1981
  • Provides a 3 Year Qualification

The successful candidates once qualified will be First Aiders in the workplace.
For groups of more than 10 delegates discounts are available on request.

A minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 12 people attending.

from £150 per head or £1200 + VAT for a group of 8 or more (minimum of 6 and maximum of 12 Delegates per course).

The two day first aid at work refresher course

The course is for candidates who already hold a 3 year First Aid At Work Qualification which is nearing the end of the qualifying period. Duration is 2 days and covers the following:

  • The Most Current First Aid Techniques
  • In depth Training in Reporting and Identification of Casualties
  • Triage
  • Recognition and Treatment of different types of injuries
  • Course Is in Line with First Aid At Work Regulations 1981
  • Once Completed Requalifies the Student for 3 Years

For groups of more than 10 delegates discounts are available on request

A minimum of 6 people and a maximum of 12 people attending.

The emergency first aid at work course

This is a one day course and covers the following:

  • Incident Control
  • First Aid Kits and Accident Books
  • Calling for Assistance
  • Basic Life Support Skills Including The Recovery Position and CPR
  • Bandaging Techniques
  • Dealing with Bone Injuries
  • Provides a 3 Year Nationally Recognised Qualification

The successful candidates once qualified will be a first Aider

The course is for low risk workplaces or to support those who hold the full first aid at work certificate

A maximum of 12 people attending.

Annual refresher training course

This is a 3 hour course and covers the following:

  • Incident control
  • Calling for assistance
  • Basic life support skills including the recovery position and CPR
  • Bandaging techniques
  • Dealing with a casualty with shock
  • Provides a 1 year certificate

This course is recommended for all those who have a current First Aid At Work or Emergency First Aid At Work course.

12 hour paediatric course

This course is run over 2 days and covers the following:

  • First Aid In the Childcare Environment
  • Primary and Secondary Assessments
  • Basic Life Support Skills Including The Recovery Position and CPR
  • Dealing with Bone Injuries, Choking, Burns and Scalds, Head and Spinal Injuries
  • Bites and Stings, Foreign Bodies, Eye injuries
  • Epilepsy, Febrile Convulsions, Diabetes, Asthma, Meningitis, Sickle Cell Anaemia
  • Anaphylactic Shock, Electrical Shock, Conditions of Heat and Cold

The course meets the requirements that are laid down by OFSTED for anyone working professionally with children. It also meets the Statutory Requirements set out by the Early Years Foundation

The Course duration is 4 hours and covers the following:

  • Incident Control
  • First Aid Kits and Accident Books
  • Choking
  • Basic Life Support Skills Including The Recovery Position and CPR (Adult Child and Baby techniques )
  • Bleeding and Bandaging Techniques
  • Burns
  • Dealing with Bone and Head Injuries
  • Provides a 3 Year Qualification

The Course is suitable for anyone who has, or is responsible for the care of children.

Basic emergency first aid course

The course duration is 2 hours and covers the following:

  • Calling for Help
  • Dealing with Emergency Blocked Airway
  • Bleeding
  • Basic CPR Procedures
  • Provides the candidate with a 1 Year Attendance Certificate

Maximum of 15 people attending on the day

Automated external defibrillator (AED) course

The course duration is 3 hours and covers the following:

  • Incident Control
  • Calling for Assistance
  • Airway Management
  • CPR Procedures
  • The Recovery Position
  • Fully Instructed in the use of the AED unit
  • Provides a 1 year Certificate

Anaphylaxis awareness course

This course is for the duration of 2 hours and covers the following:

  • Definition of anaphylaxis
  • The causes of anaphylaxis
  • Signs and symptoms
  • Difference between allergic reactions and anaphylaxis
  • First aid – including early recognition
  • The effects of adrenaline when administered
  • The use of Epipens/anapens including practical session
  • Provides a 1 year Certificate

Epilepsy awareness course

The course duration is 3 hours and covers the following:

  • Definition of Epilepsy
  • The Causes of Epilepsy
  • The Definition of Seizures
  • The Different Types of Epilepsy
  • Signs and Symptoms of Seizures
  • Febrile Convulsions
  • First Aid Treatments
  • Theory of Medication as Treatment – including PR Medication
  • Provides a 1 year Certificate

The course duration is 3 hours and covers the following:

  • Medicines Act 1968
  • Misuse of Drugs Act 1971 – Controlled Drugs
  • Role Limits and Responsibilities of Care Workers in Care Homes

  • Topical Application – Eye, Nose and Ear Drops, Inhalers, Spacers
  • Principles of Drug Administration
  • Record Keeping
  • Errors and Incidents
  • Provides a 1 year Certificate
